The IEEE Region 8 Student and Young Professional Congress 2014 took place in Krakow from August 4th until August 10th. Passau was represented by six student branch members. To present their activities at the congress, each branch was asked to create a poster before traveling to Krakow.

Additionally, a competition was held to determine the best posters. Each congress visitor was able to cast one vote for his or her favorite poster. Shortly after the voting was opened, certain posters quickly gathered votes. The official winners were announced at the closing ceremony: Passau reached the third place with 25 votes. The second place was taken by students from the Lebanese American University in Beirut. 34 votes were given to the poster from the student branch from the University of Porto which won the competition.
