5th IEEE Programming Advent Calendar

Not in the mood for chocolate? But you still don’t want to go without an Advent calendar? Is the wait until Christmas too long for you? Then take the challenge and join the Advent calendar of the IEEE Student Branch Passau!

This is already the fifth time we are running the big programming Advent calendar, with a small (or not so small) task for every day. We offer interesting programming tasks for scripting newcomers and seasoned algorithm foxes alike.

Simply write a small program in the programming language of your choice, upload it and see right away whether you have solved the task. As every year, the best participants can win great prizes.

For the anniversary we have come up with something special: measure your performance in an international comparison and compete against participants from all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland!

Interested? Sign up at ieee.uni-passau.de/advent and use the time until 1 December to get familiar with the test task.

This year, our special thanks go to the Chair of Software Engineering, which provides us with parts of its computer cluster for evaluating the submissions, and to the university’s computing centre, which provides the infrastructure and the web server. We would also like to thank msg systems and ONE LOGIC for providing the prizes, as well as all task authors from other chairs of the university and our sponsors.
